5 quick tips to help if you're setting up a new google ad words campaign
Google ad words can seem some what of a mind field if you have never used the platform before. There are so many layers/tools that you could use, however I have come up with a list of 5 tips, which helped me when first setting up campaigns. They may seem simple, but sometimes, simplicity is key. 1. Always set a goal. Whether you are driving traffic or product sales, it's always best to establish this from the outset and plug this into the tool, so that google supports to optimize your campaign. 2. Establish your target market. One of the biggest mistakes that can be made is trying to show your ads to everyone. It's important to know who you are trying to reach. I would try to get inside the head of your customer and put together a couple of profiles using demographic and psycho graphic information. 3. Know the difference between 'broad', 'phrase' and 'exact' keywords. In my opinion, I would use exact match keywords, so that you know exactly what you are spending on. 4. Use all the possible ad extensions. Try to use all site link extensions, full ad extensions, structured snip extensions and price extensions, where possible. This is additional space that you can use to advertise your business and give the consumer as much information as possible when seeing the ad. 5. Optimize, optimize, optimize! It's super important that you keep an eye on what's working and what's not and adjust accordingly so that you're making the most of the budget available. I'd love to hear your thoughts / challenges / quick wins when setting up campaigns! M x
